The Romanian Geosynthetics Association (IGS Romania) with the support of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) is organizing the event IGS Professional Development Course on the topic Sustainable Design with Geosynthetics – Roads, Railways and Airfields, from 22 to 24 of July, 2026 in Bucharest, Romania.
The event is hosted by the Faculty of Hydroengineering and Water Resources Management from the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest.
The course is held over 3 days, with the initial program comprising approximately 16 hours of teaching and 3 hours of case history presentations.
The presentations will be delivered by Prof. Jorge G. Zornberg from the University of Texas at Austin and Prof. Erol Tutumluer from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
The course is aimed at designers, contractors, manufacturers or distributors and all those interested in the optimal and efficient use of geosynthetic materials. The number of participants is limited to maximum 50.
The course ends with an evaluation of the knowledge acquired. The participants will receive a diploma issued by IGS Romania and IGS which will certify participation in this professional development course.
