The search is on for the next IGS Chapter to host one of Europe's flagship geosynthetics conferences.

Expressions of interest are now being sought to deliver one of the region's most prestigious events in September 2029.

Since its launch in 1996, the EuroGeo conference series has been a significant platform for advancing the geosynthetics debate while shining a spotlight on the engineering capabilities and opportunities in the region and host nation.

IGS France will present next year's EuroGeo8 from September 15-18 in Lille, themed 'Technical challenges and environmental imperatives for the 21st Century'.

But could EuroGeo9 be your year?

Patricia Guerra-Escobar, chair of the IGS European Regional Activities Committee (ERAC), which supports the organizing committee of EuroGeo conferences, said: "Hosting EuroGeo is a chance for your Chapter to set the agenda on geosynthetics discussion and focus – what's important for your region? Apply now for the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development and debate around geosynthetics."

Bidding guidelines for EuroGeo9 can be found here and you can also get support and advice by contacting Ms Guerra-Escobar.

Expressions of interest must be sent to IGS Secretariat Manager Elise Oatman at igssec@geosyntheticssociety.org by Friday, January 31, 2025.

Final bids must be submitted to the same email address by Friday, May 30, 2025. The winner will be chosen and announced at EuroGeo8 in September 2025.
