The IGS has published its ‘Strategy Delivery Report 2022-2026’ detailing progress made to grow influence, expand education efforts for professional development and broaden opportunities in the industry. The report follows the publication in May 2023 of the ‘Building On Firm Foundations’, strategy which defined the IGS’s priorities:
Among the many highlights are:
- the launch of the IGS Professional Development Courses, with three pilots completed in Brazil, Romania and South Africa
- the publication of the first IGS Geosynthetics Handbook, with over 600 copies distributed so far
- the creation of the new Premium Corporate membership tier, allowing the IGS to achieve much more
- the Environmental Sustainability Calculator, enabling IGS members to demonstrate the benefits of using geosynthetics compared to other materials
- progress to make the IGS membership more representative of the industry and society
- stabilization of the IGS’s finances to safeguard the Society’s long-term future.
IGS President Sam Allen said: “During the past four years, a team of highly our dedicated staff and Society members have worked together to advance the goals set out in our strategy for 2022-2026. To everyone, who so generously lent their expertise, their time, and their passion to the service of our learned Society, I extend my deepest thanks. I take great pride in what we have achieved together.”
