Come see us in Vienna this June!
The IGS will have an exhibition booth at the 21st International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, taking place 14–19 June 2026.
We’re also proud to share that the IGS Technical Committee on Soil Reinforcement (TC-R) is organizing a special session in collaboration with the ISSMGE TC218 on Monday, 15 June, 2026 from 14:00-16:00 CET. The workshop session is titled Reinforcement Fill Structures and will cover topics such as Bridge Abutments and Marginal / Alternative Fills.
TC-Reinforcement Chair Dr. Ivan P. Damians has this to say about the session: “Reinforced fill structures are at the forefront of modern geotechnical engineering, bridging innovation in materials, design, and sustainability.
"This Special Session brings together leading expertise from ISSMGE/TC-218 and IGS/TC-R to foster resilient, efficient, and resource-conscious infrastructure worldwide. From bridge abutments to marginal fills, reinforced soil systems are redefining geotechnical design by integrating cutting-edge methods, innovative materials, and performance-based approaches into practical engineering solutions.”
